On my today’s watercolor painting you see a male chaffinch. The chaffinch is called ‘coelebs’ with the Latin name which means ‘the unmarried’. This is because almost exclusively males overwinter here. The females prefer to move to warmer regions … I can understand them well, the chaffinch ladies … 😉
